2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere do I start, the hope scholarship that was offered is given to pull the wool over the parents eyes and make them keep their kids at this school knowing that they are all underachievers and will not make it in college as the school is not preparing them to do so. They literally are learning NOTHING most parents are not aware that if the child drops out they still have to pay the whole scholarship, so NO it is not free… It is the same rule that applies to low income students if they were to apply to any college and get accepted they would most likely get tuition covered because of their income. Teachers at the school do not care, Or keep the parents informed of issues occurring in the school. Kids are not learning, there is still too many gangs around this area and drive-bys and walk up shootings etc… Security and CPD is nonexistent here unless they have a threat. City of Chicago needs to do better and provide to underprivileged low income minorities!!!Parent Review2y ago7 Reviews - Jungman Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved our child from a so called 9/10 on great schools to Jungman STEM Magnet and could not be happier! Jungman provides a challenging academic setting, incredible STEM and Media classes, and whole child social/emotional support. In 7th grade our kid got to take Algebra which is more common only in larger Academic Center schools! Jungman has new STEM equipment that is being used by the students all the time like 3D printers, laser cutters, as well as a full broadcasting studio with green screens. I also appreciate their large cluster program which has helped my child stand up for the needs and rights of her friends. Moving schools wasn’t easy for my daughter but the warmth of the administration and teachers solidified our choice. In February 2025 Jungman won the prestigious Merit Award given by Magnet Schools of America. Jungman is one of only nine CPS magnet schools to have been named a 2025 School of Excellence or Distinction for their exemplary commitment to upholding academic standards and implementing innovative programming that fosters academic growth among students. So yes, schedule a tour at Jungman and see for yourself if it’s a good fit for your child. We took a leap of faith and landed in the perfect spot for us!Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near W 18th St.

"People are always walking their dogs around here but not picking up after them. It’s disgusting. Neighbors post signs reminding owners to pick up after their dogs & that doesn’t help either"

"I drive to work but parking is a problem when I return home and as it gets later in the evening. The restaurants nearby attract a lot of visitors who park on the streets that have parking requirements so that leaves less parking for residents."

"Pilsen is well connected to public transportation. The ‘L’ Pink Line goes through the west part of Pilsen. The 60, 18, 9 and 8 buses all make it easy to get around. "

"I’ve been living here for over 2 years now. It’s really growing and changing a lot. The o my thing I hate about it super dirty sidewalks (broken glass, food etc). It’s all due all the festivals we have here all the time. I just wish after all summer fun ppl can clean up. I own dogs and it’s super hard to walk them with all the glass and nasty food on the ground "
