5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI strongly advise against sending your children to Sabin. My experience with the school has been deeply concerning. Many staff members come across as rude and condescending, often seeming disengaged or frustrated in their roles. When students ask for help, they are not always supported, and if a child struggles to learn in a particular teaching style, the blame is often placed on the student rather than addressed constructively. The disciplinary environment feels excessively strict. Students are threatened with suspensions, detentions, or other punishments for minor issues that could easily be resolved through conversation. There have been instances of staff raising their voices, scolding, and speaking to students in ways that feel unnecessary and disrespectful. The structure of the school day also raises many concerns for me. Students are given only about 20 minutes for lunch, which includes time to get their food, sit down, eat, and have any form of break or recess. I have more time to eat at work than kids in a middle school. You can even get punishments for talking during lunch; in some more severe cases, being banned to sit where you want or even talk with your friends. There is little to no flexibility, and even being a few seconds late after the bell can result in serious consequences, including being escorted by security and having parents contacted. This creates a stressful and restrictive environment for children.Additionally, simple questions or attempts to clarify things can sometimes be interpreted as “talking back,” leading to even MORE disciplinary action. While I understand that teachers are often overworked and underpaid, that does not justify taking out frustration on students. My daughter frequently comes home upset, sharing negative experiences involving both staff and other students. Bullying appears to be an issue, and I am also concerned about reports of substance use among students. What is most troubling is the lack of compassion shown toward children, particularly those with disabilities or mental health challenges. Instead of receiving support, they may be singled out or treated unfairly. I have tried to reach out with my concerns, and I have been responded with eye rolls, scoffs, ignorance, and empty promises. This school’s reputation exists for a reason. If you care about your child’s well-being, I would not recommend Sabin Middle School. No child should feel unsafe or unsupported in their learning environment. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, my experience with Doherty High School has raised serious concerns about student accountability and safety. On one occasion the school reported that my daughter was not in the building, when she was actually inside the school the entire time. Staff could not account for her location. For a school responsible for hundreds of students, that level of uncertainty is alarming.Students frequently appear able to leave campus during the school day without anyone noticing or following up. In practice, there seems to be very little real accountability for where students are once they arrive at school.Academic support has also been disappointing. When students begin falling behind, meaningful help or intervention is difficult to find. Concerns about grades are often minimized rather than addressed, which leaves students struggling without the guidance they need. There are also broader issues with the environment at the school. Students smoking or using substances in bathrooms appears to be widely known among students. Reckless driving through the parking lot is common and creates real safety risks for students walking to and from the building.Perhaps most concerning is that some teachers themselves have expressed frustration that the culture and standards at the school have been declining over time.Every school has challenges, but parents expect strong leadership, clear supervision, and real support for students. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here, and I would strongly encourage other parents to carefully research this school before enrolling their children.Parent Review2mo ago23 Reviews - Rudy Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCurrently I have a 2nd grader and a Kindergartener. Our family has been at Rudy Elementary since January 2022. Our personal experience over the past couple of years has truly been remarkable. My child came into Rudy with an IEP and Rudy welcomed him with open arms. The teachers and I have been able to work as a team throughout his early childhood to come up with plans and solutions for a lot of his behavioral and academic concerns. I was never made to feel like I was being a burden or a bother when it came to addressing issues with my child's care and education. Even in more recent times, that have brought more adverse situations because of my child's behavior, I was consistently reassured that we are a team and I have support from within the school. I have appreciated the communication throughout the years and I would recommend Rudy to anyone, but especially anyone with a child in need of a great SPED team. The entire SPED/Psych department is great, but I need to give a specific shout out to Rudy's Special Education Generalist, Brandy Loseke. She has been a blessing to my child's life and we need more educators like her. She always makes my child feel loved and wanted. She has the, "you CAN do it," attitude that so many children benefit from being exposed to.It was a no brainer to also put my 2nd child through the preschool program here at Rudy. They are currently a kindergartener here and so far it has also been great. The Kindergarten teacher is consistently updating us parents of their classroom activities and milestones. The opportunity to be involved in the classroom is always there, even on field trips. Rudy has also presented my family a sense of community and a plethora of new friends. There are activities that the school organizes scattered throughout the year that make the year exciting for the kids and their families.Parent Review1y ago48 Reviews - Check out schools near Turquoise Cir.

"I’ve lived here for less than a year. It seems to be pretty peaceful and quiet on most days. No recent near by crimes. I’ve literally seen neighbors with their door open late at night. I don’t ever recommend that but they’ve been here longer than me. It shows their level of comfort. There is a third party security guard whom periodically patrols the area throughout the day and evening time. If you’re looking for something temporary it’s a pretty decent neighborhood but the homes are pretty outdated. "

The Sky Sox stadium is only 10 minutes, as well as mini putting, golf courses, and movie theaters. One of my favorite things is the open space and trails within my neighborhood where I can safely walk my two dogs. "
