Most reviews are old but under Michelle Miskelley as principal, it is a much better environment.

Absolutely terrible school. Teachers are rude and some don't even feel like teaching. And whenever the administration does catch a teacher being harsh and just straight up mean to the kids, they try to hide what consequence is given to the teacher and doesnt even try to address the issue. Look, I agree dealing with pre-teens/teens can be a nightmare and some dont listen... but dont you also think these kids deserve respect too instead of "you will respect me at all time and if you dont u will get screamed at"

Overall a great school. My son received so much support when transferring from out of state. His teachers were helpful and provided additional guidance and support to ensure he was successful. Mrs. Cox, his counselor was phenomenal. Mrs. Mosley was a safe place for all the kids to go, making them feel so supported, valued, and motivated. So many other great teachers, too many to mention. My son graduated, and was well prepared for the next part of his journey at The University of Alabama. Only two suggestions - 1 - Bring back the homecoming dance. 2 - Communicate better with parents regarding safety issues. We had emergency lockdowns that I was not always notified about other than my student telling me. The kids are instructed to put their phones away, but are also told they cannot reach out to their parents when a lockdown occurs. At least that was my son’s experience. Luckily, they were never very serious.

They go above and beyond for their students to make sure that our children learn as much as possible. We love Odenville!
