The rating for this school is wrong, this is a fine school. There are a couple of teachers that need to retire, but overall, the education is solid. I'm not sure why the rating is so low, I'm a parent who would not hesitate to have my kids go to Harbor Lights.

Let me begin by saying that the staff has been kind and welcoming to our family. The small family vibe is really quite special. Having said that, there are some downsides to the small school. One, my child has required special education in the past and the decision was made to go with minimal help at Sheldon. Unfortunately the change was not great and instead of keeping the parents in the loop, we received good/bad reports each day. Our child was very unhappy and it felt like there was simply no where for her to fit in.I expected much more.

Great communication, prompt responses and faculty makes sure parents are aware of any concerns that they'd otherwise be unaware of. Especially appreciate how they handled a recent threat at the school to keep students safe and parents updated.

I have only been going to West Ottawa Public Schools for 2 years, but Macatawa Bay is by far the best school I have been at. They have amazing teachers and staff that are very welcoming and help us build character and be ready for our careers and oncoming years of school.
