"My neighborhood has very good access to public transportation or local transportation offered at no charge for those in need"
    • Brendajfx
"safe, nice small town within a very up north environment; wide variety of outdoor things to do all four seasons"
    • R. B.
"you see people walking their dogs every day. Many people walk, ride bikes and are very friendly. what more can I say. Come for a visit you will enjoy yourself."
    • Trulia User
"public transportation extremely limited in this area, commute not bad as long as one has a car. Nothing more to say. "
    • Pebbles H. F.
"It’s a very safe place, everyone’s friendly and looking to help out. There’s a lot of tourists in the summer and winter time, so it dose get very busy."
    • Bobzats
"there has never been a problem with dogs in our neighborhood but a few dogs have gotten loose before "
    • Chelsye B.
"lived here all my life. every one is very friendly. too themselves most times but willing to help if needed! "
    • Brendajfx
"we live I n the downtown area. businesses work together to plan events, refer to each other, and help each other out. we'r were with the community and support it and it's activities and organizations. it's a great place to live. "

"I grew up in this town. Very safe place to vacation, retire or raise kids. There is a local winter ski resort and nearby lakes and streams and wildlife. Great summer resort town. However, there are not a lot of work opportunities unless you want to drive to a nearby town like East Jordan, Traverse City, or Charlevoix."
    • Craig C.
"We have been looking for a vacation property in North Michigan for two years, and, finally, chose Bellaire as our second home's location. It is both quiet, clean and private, and close to everything with a ton of things to do."
    • Joe
"Bellaire is a well-balanced part of Northern Michigan: great winter recreation at Shanty Creek and great summer recreation with Torch Lake and enough AWESOME golf courses to keep you challenged for a season or two or three or more! The best thing about Bellaire is that you have the up north feel, without the tourist trappings like fudge shops and t-shirt shacks. Bellaire is accessible too, an easy drive to/from Metro Detroit, Chicagoland, and South Bend. Bellaire is also a good home base for those who want to experience Traverse City, Sleeping Bear, Old Mission, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, etc. No, this is not the Sierra Nevadas, or Colorado or New England, but Bellaire has a great upper midwestern charm and all of what families want in a home away from home (it even has a supermarket!)
