Wortham HS offers numerous certification programs for our students. From welding to pharmacy tech, general management to EMT...we have a program of study to prepare your students for post secondary. Our academic classes are top notch as well! The test scores listed above are incorrect! WHS consistently scores well above state average on STAAR EOC's. WHS recently received a distinguished designation for our ACT scores. We begin TSI testing in the 10th grade to insure our students are prepared for dual credit and college classes. WHS partners with numerous industry partners and colleges to offer numerous opportunities for our students after high school. WHS staff is extremely qualified and conscientious, and holds our students to a high standard. WHS students also excel in the arts and band. Two public art events and band events are held annually. WHS offers several innovative classes that most high schools do not. We have Construction Tech classes that are beginning an extended tiny house project. We also have horticulture and greenhouse operations that have two gardens and a fruit tree orchard. WHS even has its own apiary and produces local honey from its numerous bee hives and is STATE ranked in competition High School BBQ cookoffs.
