6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI think if you are a ‘typical’ student you will do well here but if you are marginalized in any way whatsoever you will fall through the cracks and struggle. I have two students here and the amount of harassment verbal, sexual, physical, and even involving a gun is ridiculous. My girls were not believed by administrators and the one time action was taken it was short lived. Any time they have defended themselves however the school has been quick to threaten them with expulsion. I have brought up grievances against teachers that weren’t taken seriously and were blamed on ‘female histrionics’. I have been discouraged from attempting to get a 504 plan for one of my children who dearly needs it and she has been threatened in private by the vice principal even though I have been asked to be present numerous times. My younger children will not be attending here because I have no faith in the school to keep them safe or educate them properly.Parent Review1y ago11 Reviews - Rockvale Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a recent alumni of this campus, I would personally not recommend this school to anyone. Firstly, the education in this establishment is exceedingly dull, and the teachers do little to make the subject fun and enjoyable for the students. There are some exceptions to this of course, but most of the teachers lack the ability to teach their students effectively. Also, the safety in this school is horrible; I have been threatened many times by other students, and the teachers do little to combat this issue. Most of the students—as I've touched on before—are violent and rude to their peers and their teachers; It's like they do everything in their path to make everyone else's life a living hell. The teachers' way of combating this issue is also ineffective, and only the teaches the insubordinate child to rebel further; the safety is truly laughable in this establishment. The school also does little to include family engagement in children's learning. Please parents, If you have another option, do not enroll your child here.Best Wishes— Former 7A and 8D studentAs another former student of Rockvale, I would also not recommend this school to students If you're concerned about their safety. The students of this school are very violent, I've been harassed and threatened often with physical altercations in the bathroom.I've been confronted with students, with them often asking me if I wanted to fight them in the bathroom.Cameras in the bathroom would be an unnecessary precaution to take, but security at the front of the entrance would be nice, coming from someone who's been attacked. From my personal experiences, verbal abuse and bullying is not handled well by teachers or staff. I've confronted adults concerning the matter multiple times, and the teachers never did or could do anything concerning the matter. When confronting Rockvale staff, they were often dismissive with my troubles with other students; they never did much to restrain them. I understand that adolescents can be very harsh and brash, especially with other students, but there needs to be some serious checks and balances when considering bullying and abuse.I've encountered students vaping in the bathrooms, and classrooms, and the teachers never did anything to stop the students. The punishments aren't enough to stop these students from returning to the same actions.Regards— Former 7C and 8D StudentOther Review10mo ago20 Reviews - Salem Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been at Salem since ribbon cutting. All three of our children have attended several years. One is now in high school, one in middle and our youngest is a current Salem Saint. We are dual zoned city and county. So we have a choice and chose Salem. We have been very happy with our experience. Our youngest has an IEP for medical issues and a reading disability. Her intervention teacher has been amazing. Our child had a two year regression of tested academic skills during Covid her kindergarten year due to a severe medical condition before diagnosis. We are very involved parents who have partnered with the school and the results have been amazing. In 4th grade she’s nearly completely on track in reading and earned all A’s. There is. A lot of parent involvement, the PTO is very active as well and there are a lot of fun clubs and activities for kids. They also offer ESP after school care (the county elementary schools do not). We love Salem!Parent Review1y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near Shellsford Cir.

"Nothing really. My neighborhood doesn’t have events. But it is filled with good people who look out for each other. My neighbors look after my house and mail while I’m on vacation and vice versa. "

"No sidewalks but many dog owners live in the neighborhood. Some of the main roads have cars driving a little fast but if you stay on the side streets, cars are more courteous. They will slow down and move over while you’re walking your dog. "

"The schools are beautiful and safe, close by and close together which is convenient if you have children in different grade levels. People are very friendly and easy going. I think crime is extremely low and emergency response is rapid. I think it's a great area for young families. "
