3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had 2 kids graudate from here. Though times have changed, it has given me some time to think about my past review. This school had a lot of activities for the kids, both of mine graudated with honors and are doing well in life. Some problems exist, but problems exist at ever school. Including the other schools who just hide their problems better. This was a well rounded community. As a parent you just have to be involved. My kids never felt unsafe or experienced bullying at this school. I never felt scared to send them to this school. One of my kids had a 504 plan and the school worked really well with me in installing the plan and maintaing the plan, because I was an involved parent. If you treat the school like a babysitter than yeah you probably will get diffrent results.Parent Review4w ago25 Reviews - Tapp Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the worst middle school I have ever encountered. Some teachers display clear bias, and before choosing this profession, they should seriously consider the type of environment they are creating and who they are surrounding themselves with. The chorus, in particular, had an attitude and pointed out unnecessary issues to my nephew, who is in eighth grade. If I had any other option, I would have sent him to a different school. It is especially difficult saying who you are and where you come from, even the students are racist these days. While I am not saying he receives all of the hate, the lack of understanding and respect is still very real. School should be a place where students can learn, enjoy themselves, and feel safe.At TAPP, there are serious issues such as guns, alcohol, and vapes. Yes, these problems may exist at many schools, but the situation here is unacceptable. I could say much more, but I will leave it at this, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HEREParent Review7mo ago16 Reviews - Varner Elementary School

"That’s a very safe area. I have three children, and they don’t have an issue at all. The only downfall that there is no public transportation for my children to write just in case they need to get around but besides that it’s a very nice area"

"Lots of parks around here. Depending on where you live the trains can be loud. Garrett road always floods from the creek. It’s mostly quiet and there’s people of all backgrounds and ages. "

"Powder Springs is one of the few cities in Cobb County that still have rural southern charm blended with suburban community. I am with an hour drive from Buckhead using surface roads. The library system is excellent too."

"We used to be a very closely knit community. There isn’t much of that now. Times are different and with so much going on in the world, I don’t think people are open to hanging with strangers and trying to have a good time."
