8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt saddens me to see that the school allows a teacher to wear a shirt threatening the life of the President of the United States while chaperoning students on a field trip to the White House of all places. Perhaps she thought she was clever or cute, but this is a serious lack of judgment and poor decision making by an adult who represents the school. Regardless of your personal opinions, when you are on the job, you are representing your employer. Middlebury Schools needs to correct this employee’s classless and dangerous representation of their school district.Other Review1y ago7 Reviews - Jefferson Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am currently a junior at NHS. I entered the school district my freshmen year from a fairly small school, which other than size and money, was similar to Northridge. To start with some positives, the school faculty are pretty good. Now I am an honors and college credit kid, so I can truly only speak about those teachers. But I have had positive experiences with most of my teachers (with rare exceptions). I have met wonderful people who I am proud to call my friends. The art and english departments are amazing. There are also many extracurricular opportunities for students to discover. The negatives bring these positives down. I have NEVER heard so many racist, homophobic, and just plain rude behavior in my life. Slurs are casually said in the classroom and halls, and it is an unsafe environment for anyone who doesn’t fit the straight, white Christian mold. Bullying is a huge issue causing many people to hide away and cut themselves off completely socially. Minority students are especially targeted, and since some clubs have been shut down due to state requirements, they lack safe spaces, as the school doesn’t provide them. Also, teachers are constantly disrespected by students. As many other reviews show, we do have a massive drug problem. Kids will avoid certain bathrooms because they know someone will be smoking. Faculty seems to do nothing about it, though I give them credit for trying to help the kids who want help with their addiction. Most schools have alarms to tell if smoking is happening, but from what I see, Northridge has none despite its wealth. I love going to Northridge, but its because I found good friends, not because its an amazing place. Bullies are in the hallways and its a game of social politics. If you’re into extracurriculars, music, sports, and academics I think Northridge is great. But if you aren’t into academics and extracurricular activities, I don’t think Northridge is worth your consideration. Again, I’m in the honors department where although bullying still happens, its less than the “average” classes where all the sporty frat boys are. These are my thought, and I hope with our lovely school principal(who I love and is doing a great job) will help fix some of Northridge’s flaws.Student Review2y ago13 Reviews - Heritage Intermediate School
