4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageContacted the school for over a year and out of the 100 phone calls only possibly 5 have been answered. Then when you ask if the principal is in office she never is. Doesn’t answer her emails or voicemails and either the secretary’s don’t relay messages or they’re just completely ignoring whatever it is you’re looking into. They have all been extremely nasty on the phone when you tell them you’ve called and nobody is responding. Most likely it was them that didn’t do the work hence the attitude. Dealing with people’s children and hasn’t even responded through any form of communication. Doesn’t get any more unprofessional than that! From the principal to the lowest title they have this school nobody cares about our children very much if they don’t even reach back out to a concerned parent. She’s never in the office so who’s watching after the kids and checking on teachers? She is not fit for this position whatsoever and it has been a horrible experience trying to get ahold of someone it’s like because it’s not their kid they could care less. Wouldn’t recommend this school at all your kids interest is not at heart and the person who should be there the most is hardly in the building. Will be reaching out to the board of education and possibly a civil suite. These people have no shame and this needs to be brought to the light.Parent Review1mo ago6 Reviews - Lansdowne High & Academy Of Finance

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't even know how this school is still open. Allison Seymour is the worst principal. She is rude, does not respond respectfully to parent concerns, and has taken an already poor-performing school lower in their performance. Maryland state report card rates them as a 1. She cares more about her ego than providing students with the necessary resources to succeed. Resources for students with learning disabilities are a joke and nonexistent. They find it acceptable and see no issues with graduating students who test at a 3rd-grade level. Total incompetence.Parent Review2y ago5 Reviews - Lansdowne Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are fights almost everyday, most teachers start to get careless after the first semester and start to get ruder and less helpful. The A/C is almost never on during hot days and the heat was never on during cold days.Student Review1mo ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near Rose Ave.

"If there were more dog stations on main road for disposables. Maybe a dog park or play area would be great"

"Horrible place to live in, used to be a nice area to live in and have your kids outside playing on all the parks but now it’s horrible and there’s a lot of drugs and crime in this area now. "

"I have a dog and I love living in Halethorpe. We take him in walks daily and all other dog owners are friendly too. We’ve been lucky to run into other dog owners and get along well. "

"Its close to major highways and the commute is average if not during peak hours. The roads are terrible but thats to be expected since it’s so close to Baltimore. "

"It gives off the sense of being home. Majority of people are nice, it’s right next to UMBC, there’s a lot of parks for children, all around a really nice area. "

"Schools are close by but the ratings are very low. Police activity is high but responses tend to be slow if needed. Very mixed demographic is probably the best aspect of the area."

"The neighborhood is what ever you make it. Yes bad things happen but if you're experience is how you make it, I'd you want to keep to yourself you can if you want to be popular you can but we give the same energy out here for the most part. "

"The churches do a lot to help the community, Lansdowne elementary just built an amazing new school, in my opinion it's the finest one around. There is a heavy police presence so crime has really gone down quite rapidly."

"I've lived here most of my life, about 20 years. It was a nice community when I was younger, with friendly neighbors and really good schools. There are still great lights around Christmas but not as much of a sense of community anymore and not the safest area."

"My car gets broken into about once a month. I live on a well lit street directly across from relay elementary school. I have to put shoes on my dog because the neighborhood streets and sidewalks are consistently coated in broken glass bottles. "
