It is a 402ft earthen dam built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in the 1960s to provide flood control, irrigation, domestic and industrial water supply and storage for droughts. The dam is a major feature of the Colorado River Storage Project which regulates water resources across the entire Upper Colorado River Basin. LocationThe property is located one mile south of the Colorado border in New Mexico. It is approximately an hour from both Pagosa Springs and Durango, CO. The closest commercial airport is in Durango, with a private air strip available in Pagosa Springs.
