4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey have no concern for the kids safety. The principal curses at the students and bullying isn’t being dealt with. Good luck with trying to get a meeting with the principal because it won’t happen.Parent Review5mo ago13 Reviews - Dixon High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool has an ok rating but the experience wasn’t good for our family. Our student was truant repeatedly and late/skipped first period almost 30 times, and we didn’t know about it. Not one single call, or request for us to talk to the school and figure out what was going on. Kids just sit in class on their phones and laptops, watch YouTube videos timeline math…no actual teaching. Requested our students laptop remain at school so it cannot be used for personal communication at home, just for the principal to call and tell us our student has learned her lesson and so they gave her the laptop back. As the parent restricting my child’s electronic device use is my decision, not the schools. We resorted to withdrawing our student from DHS.Parent Review2y ago10 Reviews - Anderson (Linford L.) "Walking distance to downtown for city events and restaurants. Only have lived here for 3 months so haven’t seen a lot of the events of the community yet. "

"There are parks and there is a dog park. Lots of leash walking in neighborhoods as well. Dogs are allowed in businesses and are made to feel welcome. It is a very dog welcoming community. The Dixon Dog Park is great! "

"Charming small town. Safe, clean, where people still stroll with their families mornings/evenings. Old timers are conservative but that's changing as transplants move in. I can find everything I need and parking 5 minutes away, no congestion here. If you want peace and wide open spaces, welcome home."

"A bedroom (rural) community with 1-2 hr commute to major metro areas like San Francisco Bay area and Sacramento. Most amenities are local with movie theaters 8-10 miles in either direction on i80. Community Colleges are within 20-30 minutes as well as UC Davis. Sutter Hospital in Davis, Kaiser and others in Vacaville - both about 10-15 minutes away off I80. "

"Mon - Fri: Leaving at 8 AM, usually encounter a 30 min commute into Sacramento via I-80. Normally the only slow down is in Davis at Richards Blvd and at Mace."

"As long as they are under control and they pick up after them, they are welcome. I see no downsides to them in the area, people around here are very friendly concerning dogs."

"Great neighbors. We have lived here for 10 years and know 6 surrounding neighbors by name. We keep an eye out for any problems for each other and exchange holiday treats every year. "

"It has a small town feel. Community oriented. Many people here have religious/conservative views, which maybe good for some or something you will have to overlook. Fun community events that are family oriented. Lots of places to eat Mexican food. A very nice super walmart. Lots of liquor stores and bars. Lots of hair salons. Nice parks."
