7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a Haut Gap Middle School student, I feel very disappointed to even have step foot in this school. Every day i'm here feels like 7 years in hell. The teachers are overbearing with only a few exceptions. Even if you are lucky enough to be in a class with a good teacher, there's gonna be that one teacher who you hate with every cell in your body. They'll annoy you. They'll yell at you for no reason. They'll even embarrass you in front of everyone with not a single ounce of remorse. And if you taught your child self defense, you might as well kiss that goodbye. I got into a fight last week with someone who instigated it by punching me so I hit him back. Guess who got in trouble along with him! So what did they want me to do. "tell a trusted adult. Tell him KINDLY to stop. JUST IGNORE HIM." They do not care anymore and yes that is true. There is a literal sign above the water fountain that says that! Being at this school has been the worst experience of my life. And if your thinking about taking your kids here, just don't. Trust me.Student Review2y ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near River Rd.

"Friendly family oriented community. Lovely fun and caring neighbors. I am looking to retire down here someday. "

"There are many reactive dogs on leash and in fenced yards next to sidewalks. Some people walk dogs off leash. There is a dog park. Some owners do not respect people’s yards and some owners do not collect their dog’s waste."

"Best location to live in Charleston. Traffic is always going the other direction in AM and PM from you no matter where you commute."

"We’re tight with our neighbors but don’t do “neighborhood cook outs”. Or weird HOA things. It’s a chill, respect each other kind of neighborhood "

"Congested. Poor quality roads. Streets are one-way because people park their multiple cars on the street rather than on their driveway. Too many speeders and big trucks."

"Declining neighborhood. No HOA enforcement, too many rentals. If the covenants were enforced the property values would increase dramatically."

"There is alot of love in Charleston, the infrastructure is small and basic, it is not equipped for the large number of people that have migrated here and crowd our roads. With the traffic ad bad as it is now, you can give up that No. 1 city in America to live in. Really though, this town still amazes me. I can't think of anywhere that I would rather be."
