4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBased on these untrue rankings, I moved my family to be in the school district. It has evolved into a really unpleasant scene. I cannot agree with the rankings that it receives. There are metal detectors, the campus is closed which means that any freshmen or software who leaves and comes back is subject full search This includes their clothes! Their backpack their lunches. Everything. Fully armed police walking the campus and pull kids out of class for random searches at the office causing the kids to miss class and live in fear. There is also paid security who lacks professionalism. Despite all of this there are many, many fights here. One Friday there were three fights in a day and the following Monday there were two more fights these were not minor skirmishes, these were huge brawls with multiple huge kids fighting that had teachers getting thrown off and security getting thrown off When they tried to break it up and all of this Right in the middle of the main common area. Drugs are rampant so your kid can't even even go to the bathroom because the stalls are full of kids doing drugs, with security and the police coming in and looking in the stalls when kids do try to go to the bathroom. I spoke with the principal and The superintendent of the district. The administration response is to just clamp down more. There are so many kids that have been tossed into juvenile court for offences, And the court is about 45 minutes away, so they just gave a juvenile officer a permanent office inside the school to meet with the kids who are on probation. Because there are so many. What can your child learn in this situation? Just think about it before you enroll here. Literally move somewhere else if you need to Find a better school.Parent Review2y ago6 Reviews - Durham Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child is a person of color or special needs do not send them to this school. A kid broke my child’s arm and even made a special needs student with Down syndrome have to transfer due to extreme bullying. After several times of reporting to the staff what is going on, the staff and teachers always pick the side of white people. They do not care about the well-being or education of your child. Despite the child bullying my son has a bad reputation at school, the school decided to not do anything, nor contact the child’s parents. The majority of the teachers do not care about the students education but rather just want them to get to next grade level. The teachers also do not care about building a welcoming education for students of color (black and Hispanic). Most of the teachers will turn a blind eye if they see an injustice happening between a person of color and a white person. The only good teacher my son has had was Mrs. Davidson, who always cared about my sons education and well-being and didn’t fail to contact me about the concerns she had about my child wether that was educational/mental health. She always made sure to include me in my child’s education and didn’t turn a blind eye when injustice was happening.Parent Review11mo ago9 Reviews - Twality Middle School

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 17 years, the neighbors are great and responsible with pets. Very friendly and we often care for each other’s property and pets. Schools are well known for excellent ratings, my daughter had wonderful teachers and public experience better than her private school. Holiday lights are beautiful and kids are outside playing daily.
