5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is an outstanding student, concluding his sophomore year at Myrtle Beach High School ranking 10th in his class with an impressive 5.012 GPA. He's a member of the National Honor Society, a two-time recipient of the President's award for excellence in education from both President Trump and President Biden. Additionally, he's been acknowledged as student of the month, is part of the BETA club, has consistently achieved straight A's throughout his academic journey, and actively participates in varsity lacrosse and varsity volleyball teams at MBHS. He embodies the qualities of a model student.Despite his remarkable academic and behavioral record, there was a disturbing incident involving the athletic director and a coach at MBHS. They attempted to have my son arrested for alleged violent gang affiliation without any probable cause. He was suspended pending investigation for gang involvement and subjected to interrogation by a special gang unit investigator who attempted to coerce a false confession from him, all without notifying us of any issue. I don't blame the detective, as he was simply responding to the school's call. I reported the incident to the school board, leading to an "investigation" where the MBHS administration and the Horry County district provided three conflicting narratives for this unjust treatment of my child.Adding to the injustice, the claim was based on a questionable hand gesture in a seemingly innocent photograph. Upon closer inspection, multiple students were making the same gesture, yet only my son was treated as a criminal. The only distinguishing factor was race, raising concerns about racial bias at the school. If the decision had been based on his character, this ordeal would never have occurred. We are still awaiting a sincere and heartfelt apology from the MBHS principal and staff. The principal at MBHS and district investigator showed a clear prioritization of covering up a reprehensible act committed by one of their colleagues rather than ensuring the well-being of the students. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very good, I used to go to that school but I moved. I mean teachers are very nice and caring, but there is a problem. One time I told one of the counselors that there was a fight going on with a girl and one of my “friends”. All she told me was that I caused the problem because I was “gossiping” and I literally didn’t do anything bad. And people just sell vapes and drugs. I just want to say that Mr.Fisher is a really good teacher, he is fun, caring, and very kind. But is just that some teachers are so mean and they just call your name because you stare a the window for like 1 second. This school is really pretty and big I like it a lot. But they need to stop with the clear book bags, I mean we don’t need them we just need to use the regular ones. I really recommend this school but just be careful with your friends because most of all my “friends” were fake. But have a good day!!Other Review9mo ago5 Reviews - Myrtle Beach Child Development Center

"A lot of traffic getting in and out of Conway, especially with Halloween being so popular and now the holidays. "

"I see people walking their dogs all the time and they are usually leashed or have some kind of fancy collar so they don’t just roam around. "

"Commute not too bad if you have your own transportation. Public transportation is not the best in this area. "

"Commute is arguably the only problem and worst part of living in Conway. Getting into the city from the south or the coastal route will have you in bumper to bumper traffic any time it’s during work commute hours. Also during the major decorating holidays the downtown becomes very fun and well decorated and because of that, the traffic is strong at night as well during oct-dec."

"A wonderful, mature neighborhood of Buckwood. The only negatives are the proximity to 501 and low income house just outside our community."

"Community festivals (you usually find out when you're driving though), traffic is terrible (there isn't any on-peak or off-peak times; it's always bad; except late at night; but getting worse by the day) some people are nice; not all) The community has become more rentals so you have a lot of diversity (not much southern hospitality anymore), schools are ok but people consistently ignore the active school zone alerts, speed limits are low but people ignore that as well. There is an area called River Walk, it's nice. Don't go at night. Don't forget to lock your cars, no matter what, even at home. Police are more worried about drugs than traffic laws. Prices in stores are the same as you'd get anywhere in the northern areas. The humidity here is 3 fold due to being inland and with it being in a swampy area, it gets really muggy and stinky and the city water is terrible. Don't drink it. :) To each their own."

"It isn’t the safest area to live in. Always lock your car. Check the school ratings before letting your kids go to certain schools. Some areas are really nice though so it all just depends "

"this area is near a college so there can be a lot of irresponsible young adults around, but there are lovely eating spots, walking trails, and people to be found here. the beach is the perfect distance to be able to go whenever the weather is perfect, but far enough away to be away from the hustle and bustle of the boulevard. "It's a small feel next to a state university and 10 miles from the beach. Love it here. We're located by two major arteries feedings interstate roads and shopping districts are accessible from either downtown or out by the beach. We ate by the Broadway at the Beach venue and other beach attractions like Ripley's, the Sky Wheel and racing cars. Fun for a ages and plenty of golf course for everyone. "
