8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt was okay I guess to be honest I did not like OVMS this year last year was nice though. Some of the Teachers don't really provide that much support for kids who need help and aren't really friendly there aren't many janitors only two and the Bathrooms reek plus there is a lot of bullying.Other Review4mo ago20 Reviews - Monterey Ridge Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love this school, and have had 2 kids go through it. The teachers are loving, parents are super-involved, and it has a fun culture with neat traditions. My only two hiccups: there is nothing being done at all for GATE students, and donations are constantly, constantly being asked for. Other than that, we wouldn't take back any of the experiences we had here. Kids are kind to one another and they had a great anti-bullying program.Other Review8y ago11 Reviews - Del Norte High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an alumni this school has many issues. The students are not excited about learning they race to take as many AP classes as possible without truly engaging and comprehending the material and applications. The goal is to check it off the list. Being of mixed race I found the school to lack diversity and many students displayed racial hostility to non whites. Even worst was the observation that if you were not a product of this community (homegrown) as the locals called it, you were excluded from many opportunities. Sad to see so many of these kids and their families left out. Bullying is rampant in this school both academically from peers and socially between cliques. If you keep below the radar you should have no problems. Save your shine for college when it will be appreciated. On the positive side there are some great teachers there. They have a tough job and do the best they can to prepare you. Take note of the high test scores but very low reviews. Del Norte lacks balance.Other Review2y ago20 Reviews - Check out schools near Ralphs ranch Rd.

"There are new bicycle Lanes going up Smyth avenue. Streets are being slurried with new pavement. Neighbors are friendly they get into the Christmas spirit by putting lights on their homes. There are several new Young home buyers. A lot of remodeling going on. People getting involved with the community. Neighborhood watch signs on Street lights. "

"Farmers market nearby but there is a lot of noise and the garbage trucks like to drive behind the apartments through the alley every weekday and it echoes so it makes it difficult to sleep past 7 and there are also the gardeners and their leaf blowers for all the apartment buildings "

" “In my neighborhood, it’s really the community events that make it feel special. We have holiday light-ups where everyone decorates their homes and the whole street glows — families walk around with hot chocolate, kids laugh, and it feels like one big festive gathering. On weekends, there are small farmers markets and pop-up stands where neighbors sell local produce, homemade treats, and crafts. It’s one of those places where you always end up running into someone you know. We also have seasonal events like summer block parties, outdoor movie nights at the park, and little cultural celebrations that bring everyone together. Even simple things, like community clean-ups or morning walking groups, create this sense of connection. All these little moments throughout the year make the neighborhood feel warm, welcoming, and full of life. It’s the kind of place where people look out for each other, and that’s what makes it really special.”"
