"I have the most amazing view of the Green Bay and feel very fortunate to be able to work remotely and live here."
    • Dansimons1961
"The dog park at the Sister Bay Sports Complex is 2nd to none! Traffic is light on most streets for dog walking. You should carry a light at night as many streets are not lit."
    • Teresecapizzi
"Great parks that allow dogs on leashes. Restaurants that are dog friendly. Lovely roads to walk on. "

"I have lived in this community for 10 years, 1/2 of the year. Small town atmosphere with many cultural events (art shows, concerts outdoors and indoors) This area has many sensational restaurants, outdoor activities for young and old."

"We started visiting Northern Door County in 1985. We would generally come up twice a year. Once in the Spring, and once in the Fall. The children loved it, and so did we. We bought two weeks of time share at Little Sweden around 1998, one in the winter, and one in the summer. In 2005, we bought a home, with the intention of moving to it full time, after retirement. We moved here late in 2009, after sending our last of 4 children off to college. This is our 4th winter. Winter is no more severe here, than in Chicago or Milwaukee. We lived in both. The lake and bay help to moderate temperatures, both summer, and winter. We live inland on 10 acres. It's very private, and nature abounds. Although we are in a very private place, it's only 3 miles to the Sister Bay marina, to land our boat, or wave runners. We have excellent upscale, and casual restaurants very near by. We sometimes wonder what in the world we're doing up here, when the winter is just cold and brown, but when the snow shows up, it's beautiful. Being retired, we have the option of just picking up, and going somewhere, and we do. A drawback, if you look at it that way, is that we are isolated, Very few people live in Northern Door year round. There are boutique stores, but there are no chain stores. It's 35 miles from our home, to go to Target or Walmart. It's about 80 miles to Green Bay, to find a major shopping mall or store, etc. Actually that's fine with me, but last coming from the Chicago area, where we had every store you had ever heard of within 5-10 miles, it's very different for my wife. Northern Door is a beautiful piece of the earth. We love it here. "

"Sister Bay is an excellent place to retire and/or to have a second home to visit and get away from the city. Beautiful scenery on both the Lake Michigan side and the Bay side. Excellent beaches, great restaurants and much to do in the spring, summer and fall. "
