    About this House

165 acres right off the Texas Mountain Trail ( highway 118 ) 24 miles from Terlingua and 56 miles from Alpine. This property is a square parcel that features a county maintained road crossing it completely from North to South and Terlingua Creek running along the Eastern side . There are underground telephone cables all along the road and there is electricity nearby. This is a beautiful piece of land with scenic views of mountains in every direction including Agua Fria Mountain, Hen’s Egg Mountain and Packsaddle Mountain. There are also grassy flats, sandy flats and creek beds, a variety of desert vegetation and many different elevations to explore. It is a rock hunters paradise with thousands of varieties available including abundant bands of quartz and hundreds of fossils in the creek bed. We have seen javelina, deer, wild turkey, pronghorns, hawks and eagles. On our last trip we came across a group of wild donkeys drinking from the creek. This would be a beautiful place to build a permanent residence or just a cabin but it is also a great investment property that could easily be subdivided into smaller parcels. It is an excellent place for solar or wind power installations. My property ID is PD 14159 and legal description is BLK 215 SEC11 NE/4 TSTL. I have included a picture of the current survey and you can find metal stakes with orange tape at all 4 corners of the property. If you want to see the property coming from Alpine go 56 miles South on highway 118 to the Agua Fria Road which only goes on to the right. Go exactly 3.4 miles on that road and you will see a marker stake on each side of the road where my property begins. If you mark your odometer at that point and follow the road it is 6/10 of a mile to the other edge of the property. If you are coming from Terlingua take 118 North to the Agua Fria Road on the left and follow the same directions. As you explore please take the time to go to the two low water crossings and follow the creek beds where you will see huge changes in the height of the creek walls and lots of rocks and fossils. I have included several maps in the photos but please contact me if you have any questions. Thanks.

"ALPINE is extremely animal friendly for pet lovers. Openly keel your fur babies with you wherever you go, just be sure to take baggies with you and pick up any of their droppings. There are beautiful walking trails and gorgeous sunsets and the most amazing night skies. Also we have a couple of great veterinarians here in town."

"Small, very small. Rural area. I came from New Orleans and this is so different! I love it here. Houses are very pricey for what you get. "
    • Pollyanne M.
"I have lived in Alpine for 15 years and worked here for 8. It is a diverse community that offers a lot of resources for its small size: hospital, university, good private and public schools, lots of nature based recreation with 1/3 of Texas' public open space within 1 1/2 hr drive. Clean air. Dark nights good for astronomy. "
