8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe final year at this school with the new principle is the absolute worst. Once Kimberly Winterbottom is out of office maybe I would recommend this school in the future. There is no support from the offices and higher ups to the students, all money donated from families is pocketed and lost in non needed expenses, where we still dont even have soap in the boys bathrooms, the school has faulty water pipes where the water from the sinks in the culinary room is coming out yellow. Restriction on students bathroom uses to only six times a quarter per class, where only one student is let out at a time for a limit of eight minutes, so if you are feeling sick that day make sure to get everything done quickly, or you will be threatened by staff. If you are sick with flu and are told to stay home for the week by your Doctor, Kimberly Winterbottom will email your family, threatening to hold your credits. So make sure to go to school while you have the flu. There is no freedom within the student body, the last three years this school has given students chances to go to their teachers during their lunch hours, and get help when needed, as well as has the ability to transfer classes during that time. That is no longer the case, where once that bell rings, you must stay in that class. If you are a senior with your partial schedule, you cant ask your teacher a quick question, because once you do a and that bell rings, you are not allowed to leave. Say goodbye to your job as you will not be late, but its not your fault. Of course its Kimberly Winterbottom's. Kimberly Winterbottom will make sure to go out of her way to cancel senior meetings, to drop her own little worthless message, repeating what she announced the week prior, leaving highschool seniors with a very short window to buy prom tickets, have the ability to check what they owe in school dues and obligations. The money you put into this school is not worth it, $60 in class dues for all of that just to go down the drain and not fund a better school. Seniors paying $80 in prom tickets, just for our after party to be held back within out own schools cafeteria, while other schools like Crofton High school renting out a whole night at Sky Zone, or North County High school renting a night at Urban Air. This could be a fault at student fundraising, but where were all the meeting to let students know about such fundraising? Oh, Winterbottom canceled every senior meeting weeks in a row. DONT ATTEND ARUNDEL!Student Review1y ago24 Reviews - Crofton Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is bullied on a daily basis and no one does anything. This school has really gone downhill. Teachers do not discipline students and administration is not helpful at all. Class sizes are high and the school is overcrowded. There "anti-bullying" campaign is a joke. Teachers just tell students to "write incident reports" and do not handle the issues. My child complains of other students talking through class and being distracting. So disappointed. Seems like the teachers don't even want to work there. Only sending my child there because I have no other options. Additionally, there are racial issues that no one want to address. My child is regularly physically and mentally bullied by other children due to her race.Parent Review2mo ago20 Reviews - Nantucket Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile classes are small in size, the school is so large that there’’s definitely a lack of resources when it comes to special education and community support. My husband and I both notice our kids’ current teacher is very aloof and hasn’t offered support to teachers beyond her classroom.Parent Review2y ago21 Reviews - Check out schools near Open area d.

"I've lived here for 11 years. It's a very comfortable place to live and is close to so many things, so incredibly convenient! Traffic can be congested sometimes, but it's worth it to have all the stores, restaurants, etc nearby."

"I've lived in this community for 17 years now. I raised my daughters here. They went to Nantucket and Crofton Elementary, Crofton Middle, and Arundel HS. Crofton has a lot to do and is central to Annapolis, Ft Meade, Baltimore, and DC. A lot of grocery stores, gyms, and things to do. Good place to live!"

"It’s a densely populated area but still feels like a close and friendly community because of the local farmers market, country club events, and the many friendly people that are out enjoying a walk/run through the neighborhoods. "

"If you’re in the townhouses many people have signs up saying don’t let your dog go on their lawn. If there was more open area it’d be okay but there isn’t."

"I was raised here. It's been overdeveloped in the last 5 years, so it's not the same place as I grew up. There were horse farms and much more trees. The neighborhood's biggest hill, where all the local kids used to line up to sled down in the winter is now paved over and an assistance living home resides in its place. It's more lively than your typical suburban town because we have a lot of amenities for a three-strip-town but also a lot of traffic because it is a straight shot to 97 from 50 and 301 dead-ends at Rt. 3/97 in the north and VA in the south. Sometimes it feels like people don't work during the day because Rt. 3 is so busy and Saturdays are THE worse! It's the sweet spot being 30 min. equidistant to DC & Baltimore and 15 min outside of Annapolis. I enjoyed my childhood because I had one here, but I'm ready to move."
