Wonderful the teachers really work with the students

My son is currently in first grade, and I am increasingly concerned about the volume of homework being assigned. Sending home 10 or more pages per week is excessive for children at this developmental stage. First graders should be reinforcing foundational skills, not feeling overwhelmed by academic demands that are disproportionate to their age.I am also deeply troubled by the school’s policy prohibiting siblings from attending school events. This rule disproportionately affects families without reliable childcare, particularly single parents who may not have a support system to rely on. In practice, this means some parents are effectively excluded from participating in their own child’s school experiences!!!!!Policies that create barriers for families are not inclusiv!!!Schools should strive to support diverse family structures, not implement rules that unintentionally marginalize them. I strongly urge the administration to reevaluate both the homework expectations for early elementary students and the policy regarding siblings at school events.It is 2026,our educational environments should reflect awareness, flexibility, and inclusivity.
