I have two children and both have gone to Wilkesboro Elementary School. I can say first hand that if it was not for the caring, teachers and principal at this school that my son wouldn't have come as far as he has. When my son first came to Wilkesboro Elementary he could not speak two words, my son has autism. My son was mainstreamed into regular classrooms with his peers. He is now in the 4th grade, making leaps and bounds. I take my hat off to all the teachers and the principal. I can tell you that this school is a school of excellance. There is not another school in the state that has anything on WES!! god bless

"I work at the Walmart in Wilkesboro. Although there are a mixed type of people that come in here, there are some really good quality people here as well. Overall I feel the community is good. The streets are clean. The younger generation seems to be a little out of hand sometimes. "
