    The City of Tehachapi saw dramatic population growth from 1990 to 2010. Following the 2008 real estate market crash, population dropped by 18%. Median property values dropped 40% to a low of $161,000 in April 2011.
    Values rebounded beginning in 2011, rising 60% from 2011 to 2018. Today, the median value of Tehachapi homes is $252,000, and by November 2018 the value is projected to be $261,000.
    Tehachapi area housing demand is also driven by high prices and lack of available land in the L.A. region. Sales prices jumped 7 percent annually in November 2017, according to a new report from CoreLogic.
    Whether in the market for a new home today or for an investment for the future, the value of this property will greatly appreciate in the years to come. The property will see a higher than normal appreciation rate due to its central location between the Bay Area and Southern California.
    Tehachapi is known as a popular filming location for Hollywood movies, such as the Grapes of Wrath, Star Trek and many others.
