"We have lived here for 10 years and have been blessed with great neighbors who are always ready to lend a hand AND a beautiful area to enjoy. We can get on the waterway that runs through the neighborhood and take our boats out on Lake Dexter for fishing, canoeing, and relaxation. The area directly around the lake is all county land so the views are pristine. Lake Dexter also has a swimming beach and nice campground. This area is home to many cranberry marshes which are fascinating to watch throughout the seasons as bald eagles soar overhead. We hear about deer, wolves, coyotes and an occasional black bear - it's clear that this is back to nature living. Though in a decade, we've only seen most of the big critters once or twice while hiking in the thousands of acres of public land which begins right across the road. The Dexter Drive In restaurant is within walking distance for us! It opens each spring and closes by Thanksgiving. Locally known as "the ice cream stand" they also serve delicious burgers and fresh fried potato chips. "
