To the Students and Staff at Washburn School, Washburn Tn. 11/11/16I am a retired US Navy veteran and I attended the Veteran's Day services today at Washburn School and I would like to commend the students and staff for a job well done. I have attended many Veteran's Day Services since my retirement in 1990 and this service was by far the best service I have ever attended. The thing which impressed me the most was the Missing Man Table and Honors ceremony which was performed by the students. I pray often for MIA's, KIA's and their family’s so to see this ceremony performed by these young people made me very proud of them, their leaders and the rest of the student body. Another thing which impressed me was how respectful and subdued the students were during the services. "Bravo Zulu" is an old naval term and message which means "Well Done". I offer all of you a Bravo Zulu for the job you did today. I would also like to thank all for presenting my two brother's names at the service. They were both proud veterans of US Navy service.James D. Spencer ENCS(SS) USN (Ret)

"The rural and farming aspect of the town and that most people are very helpful and nice. There are also a lot of small businesses that make it cool"

"No public transportation unless you call Uber. Best to have a car or bike here. The back roads aren't maintained very well, but the highway is well maintained. "

"Tazewell is a safe area to raise your kids. I do not feel scared to let me kids play outside by themselves or walk around the neighborhood. "

"No jobs, miles from anywhere, VERY narrow roads (basically one lane that is used for two way traffic!) Beautiful, like a hungry tiger is beautiful. lol"
