I've noticed that many of the negative ratings on this website site inadequate resources for special education. The current (2014) principal at Mari Linn is a former Special Education teacher. Mrs Loftus has created a kind & considerate culture for students - leveraging the school's limited resources well. The teaching staff here is amazing. I have been repeatedly blown away by their caring teaching style & how above & beyond they go. Creativity is encouraged (I attended a concert this year where students had written original songs. I could not stop smiling.), large events show the staff's care, & this is a very safe environment for students. Facilities were updated in the summer of 2013 as part of the passed bond measure. The school is currently facing the challenges of transitioning to the Common Core curriculum parameters but seem to be doing well in this regard. My only complaint is regarding the food service quality - something that is not surprising 1) in the day & age of federal requirements where pizza sauce counts as a serving of vegetables & 2) because the school has to deal with the challenge of being a Title One entity.

the students here are so rude and unnecessarily judgmental for no reason, they can’t be bothered to do anything about their own behavior and like being cruel to seem “popular”. the teachers are bad too, all the good ones left and the rest dont care about you at all. the school system is so unprofessional, it’s hilarious. they also do a great job of making it clear that they dont care for kids with special needs. their online program is horrible as well. do yourself a favor and don’t go to this school
