7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very extreme. Either very good or very bad but more often than not I’ve experienced staff with extremely bad attitudes. Mean. Frankly I’m tired of it. There’s a way to talk to people and that way is not it. My child has sensitivity issues and tends to be late more often than not (we’re working on it and slowly improving) but has never missed school without a valid reason. They haven’t said anything about the tardies really though they do know we have a struggle. My child missed school because of pink eye. I sent up the excuse note and got it excused. THEN I GET A CALL ABOUT HER ATTENDANCE BECAUSE SHE MISSED SCHOOL FOR HAVING PINK EYE. we started to get in a routine where we were pretty much on time most of the time, and today we were. I pulled in a parking spot, got out, opened the back door and was trying to get my daughter, who of course is not cooperating, and maybe 15sec after opening the door, the parking lot lady comes up with an attitude yelling “hey hurry up” gestures to a car that just pulled up trying to get in the parking spot, taking her hands gesturing dramatically, while aggressively shooting daggers at me with her eyes. Like? You think that’s appropriate? Lady I’m not the one to be disrespectful to. I’m not purposefully taking 15 seconds but if it’s that big of deal instead of being a jerk why don’t you come help. It’s 15sec. I understand that car is in a hurry SO AM I. The one thing I will say is that the front desk lady and the principle are quite fantastic and I really appreciate them. they’re quite wonderful people. There was another time I dropped my child off a little bit late, and I dropped her off at the front of the school, while watching her walk in (it was maybe 10ft) another mother did the same thing with a kid the same age. Someone covering the front desk has my child sit there, then comes out and only yells at me for not walking her completely inside. Right after another child went in and nothing was said. A lot of the staff need a class on manners and approach. They need to learn just because they are staff doesn’t mean they get to treat parents and may be kids, who knows, like they’re stupid. Demeaning a parent for little things that they allow others to do is ridiculous. When im approached like that, im cop an attitude right back. Then it’ll be made that the parents are the problem.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Montwood High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePersonally I struggled with anxiety and had to drop the first year, the school offered me an evaluation after going to school for a couple months. Then a semester passed and my anxiety, once again, returned and I didnt go to school. Instead of doing the evaluation or ANY sped tests they sent me to court. It wasn't until after I dropped again to do the evaluation. My very close friend has also shared their experiences with me; many teachers ignore or deny them their 504 plan accommodations, today his summer school teacher kicked him out of the class because he "wasn't going to finish in time" (a test) and told him to stop doing notes that he needed to do more quizzes to bring his grade up. not just this teacher are like this, almost every class either of us had the teachers would be rude if you weren't passing or needed help. They would insist you didnt have the plan unless you went and brought the paper stating you did, and they'd get annoyed and only follow once you report it. The piano teacher also made sure my friend couldn't use his headphones or phone in the class (apart of the 504 along with his phone.) Then go out of their way to embarrass and shame him for not knowing answers and would only pick on him for questions. The art teacher would also make him clean and got mad when he drew or literally just sat there. This school couldn't give a singular care in the world if you had a 504 or any other type of accommodation.Other Review2y ago7 Reviews - William D Slider Middle School

"It’s convenient for access to all the major streets and highways and neighborhoods around town. The streets are good but the city thinks it’s a good idea to do repairs all at the same time all over the city."
