8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with Pleasant Valley Elementary has been very positive. They are doing commendable work with the resources they have, and I would certainly recommend this school to other families. It's wonderful how genuinely excited the children get about learning here! Additionally, they offer enriching after-school activities like chess club, choir, and track and field. Events such as Literacy Night, Multicultural Night, and the Back to School Ice Cream Social are fantastic for fostering a stronger connection between families and the school. The teachers are consistently respectful, highly supportive, and truly inspire students to learn. Furthermore, having a school counselor who assists with emotional learning is a significant benefit. They do an excellent job supporting students' mental health and emotional well-being.Safety is a priority here, and it's clear they have it well-managed, especially with the recent facility upgrades like new cameras throughout the campus. This definitely provides peace of mind.Regarding family engagement, the school is exceptional at welcoming families as partners. They actively collaborate with the PTA and other community groups to build the community, showcasing their strong commitment to family involvement! One observation, not a fault of the school, is that with such a diverse cultural student body, it can sometimes be challenging for parents to fully connect with other families, even for those who would love to be more involved.Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this school, as it continues to improve and shows great promise for the future. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor my child experience all 2 and a half years was miserable. When I transferred her I’d assume it was ALOT better than David Douglas. Turns out from what she has told me she wishes to have never graduated there. The teachers do the BARE minimum for these students and any slight failure there is no guidance. Only for the student to get kicked out of their class and be reassigned to whatever fits their curriculum. Fights break out so often that being alone or walking alone didn’t feel safe. Not to mention kids vaping all day in the bathrooms. It’s super embarrassing to hear and know that she went through this.Parent Review1y ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near Levy code 062.

"There are several pockets of older established neighborhoods, with larger older trees. I prefer the ones with wider streets. However, the narrower streets tend to have the more creative resistant and shops. The city is small enough that it is easy to visit those areas without having to live there"
