The teachers at Mackay Elementary go above and beyond for the students. I wish I could say the same about the other staff and school board. There is not any special needs education and the children who are in need of that seem to be cast aside or labeled a problem child. Half the time the busses do not run for lack of drivers. Communication with parents is very little if any. I have tried to get involved with the school to send out letters to parents to award assemblys.. I was met with a very rude receptionist who made it impossible for me to help. 24 kids to a class but the teachers do there best. Besides basketball and volleyball some years there is a football team and some there is not. Besides those things there are not any other electives like music, art etc and that goes into the high school.
