This is a great school, and I would encourage you not to read too much into testing scores. As a Title I school, almost 60% of the students are from low-income families, and some come to the school not even speaking English. This makes the school look bad on paper, but I assure you they're doing a great job with the hand they are dealt. If you support your child at home, read with them, encourage them, and are an involved parent, they will excel at FOES! Title I funding means that they have access to technology that other schools don't. Our 3rd grader has his own Chromebook provided by the school, and his teacher makes great use of the technology in her daily instruction. She also texts using Remind regularly to give reminders and updates. She is always accessible and responsive and accommodates students' needs. Go Cardinals!

My school goes above and beyond. Mr. Price is by far the best principal I have ever had. he always makes the students feel welcomed and accepted. I love the POWER schedule and all the time we have to study and catch up on whatever we need to or just hang out with friends after all the work is done. South Johnston High School is one of the best schools to go to because of the many opportunities and extra curricular activities offered. I wouldn't want to be anything else besides a SJHS Trojan!
