8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teacher are amazing, but the school is set up like a jail. No one is allowed inside. There are camera and locked door everywhere. You have to pick up your child from the backdoor of their classroom. No one is allowed inside the building. In a great city like Marquette, it unfortunate to have such a paranoid group running the school. The other three elementary school in town are run a lot better. Let parents be present in the school. Stop making children feel paranoid and unsafe when the opposite is true. Superior Hills is located way outside downtown. Zero chance of any people coming in there off the "street". Police response time is super-fast from multiple agencies. Let teacher teach and stop worrying about acting like a police officer or security guard when that is not your job or your background.Parent Review4w ago5 Reviews - Marquette Senior High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m a recent alum within the last few years, and reading the other reviews wanted me to say this. Unfortunately not everyone has the best experiences in school which is sad and I wish them the best, but MSHS is not to blame. There are little things that make MSHS great but there are big things too, like the teachers. I swear to God every teacher was like a great friend as well as a mentor, I would really think this is the best staff of any school in the country. Someone mentioned the school running a profit coffee shop, not true. It’s actually a marketing class that runs it and they use the sales to run other projects in the class! I went there for 4 years, never saw a fight, never had a problem with the administration, never truly had a problem. For the area, has an immense amount of AP courses. Seriously a fantastic school with life changing staff, can’t wait to send my kids here someday.Other Review2y ago7 Reviews - Bothwell Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBest school my kids have ever gone to. Everyone is more than happy to answer all questions and teachers are amazing! Plus if your child likes strings, or band the instructors are absolutely the best I've ever seen in a school. Moved to the area 2 years ago and my kids are so happy now. Thanks to all marquette schools I finally feel like my kids needs and safety is met. I am just a parent fyi, I don't work in the schools, I just had to leave a great review because this school deserves a 10/10!Parent Review10mo ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near Johnson.

"This city is full of nature, adventure, and excitement! Hiking, kayaking, walking around downtown listening to live music in the summer. These are a few of the many incredible things to do in Marquette. The U.P. Has a very loyal culture and many diverse peoples due to being a college town. "

"Commute around town is simple. I typically walk to and from in colder weather. When warm out I bike. Only drive when time is limited or the distance is greatest. Great town NOT to drive."

"Everyone seems dog friendly. However, in apartments, not a lot of yardage to run the dogs! But there are dog friendly parks and lots of trails in Marquette which is good. "

"Marquette is these biggest city in the area. It acts as for the Center for government in Michigan in the UP. For that reason it seems bigger than it really is. The education and healthcare in the area is outstanding."

"This is a safe neighborhood, well maintained properties, nestled into the foothills of Marquette Mountain. Some lots abut a green strip with frequent sightings of deer and a variety of migratory birds during the summer months. Downtown is more than a short walk but is a reasonable bike ride away (warm months). Otherwise public transport is available from the front door. Snow plowing is excellent on Altamont and you can always get out during winter if you keep the foot of your driveway clear. Marquette has just the right amount of tourism to support a variety of sporting events and festivals during all seasons but not so much tourism that it feels like a congested bigger tourist area like Traverse City. There are a least three local micro-brewries, several good restaurants, and always entertainment, especially on weekends. Marquette is growing just enough to support continuous improvements and developments of its parks and attractions and there are at least two (three star type) hotels and along with a number of nice chain hotels for visitors. Downtown becomes almost magical in the wintertime with its snow-capped sandstone facades and "lit-up" trees. Being situated on a bay of Lake Superior makes Marquette one the the most picturesque small towns in the Midwest. "
