7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers at this school aren't bad. However, a pretty hue majority of the students are. There is way too much fighting, swearing, skimpy clothing, drugs, and sexual activity. The "popular" kids are obviously favored. There was even a fight once because one girl said "fix your eyebrows". The dress code is also confusing. One girl could walk around with her butt hanging out of her shorts and nobody does anything. But if another student walks around wearing a hat or a hood they get sent to the office because it's "gang related". As a student at this high school I feel If you want your child to have a healthy social life and experience at school, I recommend sending them elsewhere.Student Review9y ago1 Reviews - Armstrong Middle School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI 1000% do NOT recommend this school district. 1 of my sons had constant behavior issues and wanted to blame the child, it wasn't until after we moved and went to another school that I found out how little paperwork they do for each child's portfolio and the carelessness of handling situations. I received calls every day about my son's behavior, and he received a suspension without any paperwork involved. Teachers sending children to a "reflection room", a white room type closet, WITHOUT informing the parent. Teachers acted like they cared, but the principal and teachers changed multiple times in the 3 years my children attended, not forming the lasting bonds/relationships needed for children to thrive. My son still sometimes has behavior problems in the new school, but it's very clear that he was treated like a nuisance rather than a blessing at the old school. I would have filed a very big complaint with the school system, but without undeniable evidence and support, I am left with only my truth against them. My children's peers also were very naughty, defiant, and inappropriate, I had to stop letting my daughter on the bus because boys would try to look up her dress/skirt multiple times and was not held accountable in any way. I am hoping I am the only one with this experience from the school district and that conditions are no longer like this. My children attended from 2021-2024.Parent Review9mo ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near Jackson Rd.

"The city of Flint is slowly making improvements for the community but there is lack of funding to boost the amount and quality of improvements. This area has accessible public transportation and a variety of stores and restaurants."

"I feel the police presence is needed more but other than that it’s an OK neighborhood . The younger generation use the streets as a race track with no concern of the kids that are on the block for that reason I feel the police presence is needed more but other than that the street lights and well lit I don’t feel too much danger because I know the neighbors in this neighborhood"

"Do not live in Flint, Mi. It’s a mess and no good to raise a family here. To much crime as well. Schools have been closed down and the schools that are open are way over crowded. Schools are behind in curriculum. "
