My grandson was transferred to this school from a Montessori school. He needed IU education, and his needs had not been identified or addressed at the Montessori school. Towmensing Elementary school was, and continues to be, an educational environment that thrives to meet individual student needs, with a concerned faculty and administration. We cannot praise this school enough. Our grandson is thriving, learning, and very happy here; teachers work together and support each other and their students. The results are an example of the power of dedicated educators, therapists, and support staff.

The elementary school was decent a few years ago but has drastically gone down hill. I pay the same taxes as people in other school districts south of Palmerton but get so much less. There are a few good and dedicated teachers. However there are also many problmes that need to be addressed rather than continuing to ignore. I tried to compensate for the lack of instruction my children received by teaching them, but we finally got to the point that putting our children in private schools is the only option. This has created a hardship for my family but our children's education is most important. Also, the lack of diversity in this school district is very disconcerting! Parent involvement is good, but too much causes issues too!

I used to go to school here and their teachers are either horrible or great. There are no okays, or alright teachers. The bad teachers go towards favoritism or teach to fast. The great teachers are always eager to help. The bad part is that the good teachers are outnumbered by the bad ones. There's always a place for everyone to fit in, but there's a lot of violence and inappropriate behavior that doesn't get corrected. Bullying and fighting has grown since they can get away with it and no punishment is given. However, it's not as bad as many of the surrounding schools, like the ones in the cities and more populated areas.
