7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUpon moving here, my children entered as their feeder school. My kindergartner was put in a class with a child that had special needs. Everyday he came home with marks on him. After months of this I got tired of it and asked if he could change classrooms. The principal did oblige and he ended up thriving with his new teacher and didn’t come home with marks on him anymore. My fourth grader had a horrible experience. We went from a school that had a high conflict resolution in place, and kids didn’t really bully each other because of it. The 4th/5th graders in this school (at least my sons class) were pretty aggressive. I witnessed two fights standing outside waiting to be let in on our first day. I also saw kids pushing each other to get in school first, multiple kids fell on the floor and I literally watched the principal walk by and not do anything. It definitely felt like my kids were thrown into a scary situation. My 4th grader was punched several times by classmates and stabbed in the arm after being pinned by another classmate. On top of that my sons MAP scores dropped significantly. I don’t feel that the school is properly staffed to be able to do a whole lot about anything. Good teachers are leaving for better schools. Kids are out of control. I contacted the superintendent and the school board early into our year here. I received no response from the super about bullying. The school board had mostly out of touch answers such as brandywine school district has a 0 tolerance for bullying etc. when the super finally got back to me he stated the wrong school in his email which showed to me he didn’t even bother reading my email. I don’t place some blame on this school because I do see failures at many levels within the district.Parent Review3y ago18 Reviews - Check out schools near HURON Ln.

"I moved here assuming this was a nice community with respectful neighbors, it is NOT. Also this area is described as a Riverfront neighborhood when it is not in walking distance."

"Lived here for 10+ years and depending on where you go or in what area it can go either way but honestly I do not trust getting packages delivered only if I leave it with a neighbor or if I'm home waiting for it."

"Neighbors are nice and it’s very quiet to relax. You will find that people gather but it’s here and there it is a little loud on a weekend party. Other than that this place is a small hidden beautiful place to live. "

"We do a lot of can drives this time of year for the needy families. Around Christmas we take a collection at the school for non-perishable foods and any toys that can afford to be donated to help give needy the families Christmas dinner and their children a gift under the tree. Just because the family feel down on their luck, children shouldn’t be robbed of the magic of Christmas. "

"What I like the most is that only people who lived here gets around. You don’t have to worry about anything since it is a very quiet place, specifically during the night it is very peaceful to have a very good night without noises. Moreover, it is surrounded by the nature which makes this neighborhood a very nice place to live. "

"I've lived on this block for almost 6 years now. For the most part, it is a quiet block with older residents who are retired, a few younger couples that work and maintain our respectable area. Traffic tends to be challenging due to its relative location in downtown Wilmington, however this is minor compared to the conditions of some areas within a half of a square mile. Neighbors are friendly and we look out for each other."
