I would have to agree with one of the other parents. This school is very click-ish. if you aren't from here good luck. also, don't even dare stand up to administration about a conflict with a teacher, you will for sure be an outcast. I would also like to add that the staff is not encouraged nor required to make the events (field day, parties etc...) fun. I for one think they should be held to a higher standard. This school is money hungry and when they get money they do not spend it in the right places. There are SOME great people here but you have to dig hard to find them. The most above all important thing at this school is school attendance. The greatest reward is for showing up, Not doing your best. You can make all f's and still go on the perfect attendance field trip. Priorities are in the wrong order. I would love to see certain staff members go (im not the only one) but I'm sure that wont happen.

"There are lots of stray dogs. It’s upsetting but people dump dogs they don’t want in neighborhoods. We got our 4th dog that was. She’s incredibly sweet and we don’t understand why someone would abandon her. "

"I live on the lake. Every thing is 10 min. Except my favorite restaurant on the lake. 3 min. Traffic is always light. It is the country life. No major interstates coming through."

"I own property in Athens near Howdy Acres (a current listing) and find the area peaceful, safe, easily accessible and the neighbors trustworthy and helpful. I am close enough to the Dallas area to access the museums, entertainment and opportunities; but far enough out in the country that I can see a star filled sky at night. With the Metroplex adding approx. a million people every ten years it will not be long before the amenities of Dallas will move closer to Athens and with that will come business growth in the Athens area. I see great potential for Athens and look forward to retiring here."
