4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feared that my 3 year old son was either speech delayed or autistic. Timbers ignored my formal request for evaluation for months. I went to the school to ask about the delay and found out someone had quit and my child’s file was just collecting dust. The principal explained all of this to me in Timbers waiting room and said all my son needed was socialization in a daycare setting. She completely brushed off serious issues about ASD and never invited me into her office, despite tears running down my face. Eventually a diagnostician did test my son, but she was decades behind the industry standards on ASD. A verbal IQ test was administered to a 3 year autistic child who was expected to sit at a desk and answer standardized test questions. From this botched evaluation, my son’s IQ was absurdly low. I am still trying to get that inaccurate number removed from my son’s file, despite multiple conversations with district level SPED personnel. I had a local ABA clinic complete a play-based ADOS evaluation on my son which was appropriate. After a horrendous initial IEP meeting and only a few weeks of pre-k at Timbers, I decided to enroll my son in ABA therapy full time. He is making great progress and is so much happier. If you suspect your child is on the spectrum bypass the slow, outdated public school system and go directly to an ABA clinic for help.Parent Review4y ago5 Reviews - Timberwood Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTimberwood Middle School has great academics and most of the teachers are amazing. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that sometimes situations are not handled in the right way and some kids make dumb decisions like how one kid airdropped an inappropriate picture to the principal and we couldn’t have phones for the rest of the year during class.Parent Review3y ago8 Reviews - Atascocita High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll of my children graduated from AHS and if I had any more, I would we proud to send them to this great school. What are the great things that I enjoy about the school? Is the counselors go above and beyond helping students that reach out and ask for help. The teaching staff is by far the best I’ve seen in any surrounding public school. The level of advanced classes/AP, honors classes, and dual credit classes help my children stay out of the curve. I feel that my children were absolutely prepared for the next step in their life, which is college. Even though the school has a very large student body population. Every child seems to find their own niche and become successful if they choose to. Both of my students are in the UT system schools. With my youngest attending university of Texas at Austin-The McCombs School of business - which is considered a public IV school and perhaps the best business school in the area.Parent Review7mo ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near Hidden Cv.

"I’ve lived in this area for almost a year. The only thing I would recommend is having sidewalks for the kids."

"There are many parks , golf courses and docks in and around the area for fun and recreational activities. Shopping malls, restaurants, movie theaters, walking trails, libraries, schools, churches, museums and police stations and sheriff offices are also close by. Crime rate is low and hospitals and close by. It’s a growing area with people moving in and out frequently. "

"I am not sure about what events take place in our community. However, a few weeks after the shelter in place began, the elementary school held a drive by parade for teachers to wave hello to their students they hadn’t seen in a while and that was sweet."
