1 week into my son starting prek and the principal Mr. Fredricks called me to tell me that my son needs to learn to behave. I explained to him that I'm having a hard time with him as well and I'm trying to get help from his Dr to have him evaluated. But most places won't until he is closer to 5. I asked if there is a way he could be in a smaller class or get some kind of help or anything that could be done to help him or give me a direction to go to get help for him and his exact response was the state of New York is not required be law to have him in prek. So I asked what would happen when he was obligated to go for kindergarten and he completely disregarded that question. Mind u I had 3 other children in the school systems and they don't have these problems. It took 3 weeks at a new school and they are evaluating him for speech, ot, behavioral problems and his doctor is trying to get him tested as well. Mr. Fredricks had no intention on helping me or his teacher. Instead they would send him home weekly. That was their solution
