"I’ve lived here for 14 years. Great area, only few miles from local shopping, hospital, in oakdale and only an hour distance from Alexandria or Lake Charles. Fort Polk, 30min away. Lots of unique History here. A wood mill was built here way back and the village was built for its employees. It is quite, peaceful providing much tranquility. No subdivision or crowding. Very family oriented. Christmas in the Country every year. Huge Easter Egg hunt and festivities. Famous for the annual trail ride. Much more. Great neighbors that you can trust and depend on if needed."

"My husband and I have lived here for approx. 14 years. And have loved it here. It is quiet, very peaceful, not crowded as you would find in a subdivision. Great neighbors and kind people all around. Elizabeth is unique in numerous ways. It has a history of being built for residents and workers to work at a the wood plant. Many great stories from generations ago from those that chose to stay and raise their families here after the mill shut down.They continued to keep this little village thriving and raising there young ones. The school is a good school. Although mine are grown , the children I know, do very well and this small village is family orientated. It is quiet here in Elizabeth, with a post office, sheriffs off. Fire station, and any amenities for groceries or shopping, are not far away. Alexandria is 1hour north. Lake Charles is 1 hour south. Not a bad drive at all for a day or night dinner and fun day out.j There is a walking park, also a very nice Piney Park Campground, where the large Easter celebration and Christmas Extravaganza is held for all families! More things during the year. Sit back and relax in this slow paced environment"
