I wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone. Most of the staff are very rude and sometimes favor certain students. The special education system is terrible and does not even bother to meet students’ needs. In all classrooms, they just hand you an iPad and expect you to figure things out yourself.The staff speak very poorly of some students, as I’ve overheard them doing, and when I tried to report it, they dismissed my concerns as nonsense. The counselor is very rude as well; none of the other students bother speaking to her because of her attitude. Please save your time and have your child transferred to Westmoreland High School, as I wish I could be there, but CBHS says I cannot transfer.I’m grateful this is my last year at this school and that I’m finally leaving. They are also trying to place me in a college I have rejected thousands of times.

I am the parent of four alumni who are now in the County's schools. As a whole, my family believes that Dahlgren was the BEST school my children ever attended. The teachers are keenly attuned to student needs and are very adept at making the course changes necessary to give each child the instruction they need to be sucessful. My oldest had failed at the four school he attended prior to Dahlgren. Teachers at those schools labeled him as lazy. The teachers at Dahlgren took the time to get to know him and understand what caused him to do poorly academically. They got him the help and resources he needed to succeed and turned his F's into A's. They also provided my other children with enrichment opportunities that have allowed them to breeze through their current courses. Dahlgren School has an open but safe environment that welcomes all. Parents and community volunteers partner with the staff to provide world class instruction. Students are accepting and supportive of each other. The result is a school that provides superb instruction tailored to meet the needs of each student in a warm and supportive environment that encourages learning, what more could you want!
