"I live here, don’t really recommend. Schools aren’t that great and community isn’t the friendliest. "
  • Michelle
"There are stray cats everywhere. They poop everywhere and NO ONE will do anything about it. Not only do they poop everywhere, they get into garbage and have litter after litter of kittens. My special needs child was playing with his dog in our yard and fell in cat poop. "
  • Derlimp
"there are alot of dog owners in the area but most of the complexes have a lot of restrictions on breeds"
  • Stephanie J.
"I love the hustle and bustle but close enough when I need to be. Everything is moving out this way and I love it."
  • Stephanie J.
"I love living here. we are in the border of new Haven and Lenox and feel very great about living here."

"It’s small and everyone knows everyone. Not a lot of street traffic and there’s land with each house "
  • Daniel V.
"I've lived here for ~6+ years now. I'm 28 y.o. married male with a ~1 year old son. Was single when I first moved here. New Haven is a great community. Safe, great proximity to both I-94 as well as Gratiot which will get you to all the nearby ammenities within just a few short minute drive while still allowing the community to stay away from all the commotion and traffic and other problems that denser populations bring. We've got great schools (though it seems the real estate sites haven't yet caught up to the calculations somehow; all the parents of children here rave about the 180' turnaround the school systems have made in the last ~10 years...We're beating nearby admired school districts like Chippewa and Anchor Bay in many areas, and have plenty of desirable extracurricular activities like sports, music, etc). The community is small enough where, literally if you wanted to, you could really get to know virtually anyone who's anyone around town within just a few months. Everyone is friendly and enjoys to chat about local ongoings. There's even a few very active social media groups for residents to join to keep up on things going on. I'll admit, New Haven in and of itself isn't the most happening town, so it may not be the greatest choice for single young-20-somethings who are still actively looking for that special someone. But if you're looking for a safe, calm, well-located community that allows for the small-town feel yet is just a short drive from any shopping or other necessities you'll need, you've found it. There's some especially-nicely priced newer homes in the recently-built subdivisions that you might still be able to get on a steal - Decora Park, Amherst, and Pembrooke - They're all still well-below their original sale price before the economy took a downturn; not sure why - they're great homes really. Look and feel like Pleasantville."
