Solid-enough school. While the state testing scores are above the Maine state average, rising 6th graders seem unprepared for the workload of middle school. For new accessions, there will be a lot of growing pains with homework and work ethic. I wish the elementary school focused more on building productivity and resilience. I even heard one middle school parent say that FMS restored her faith in the Falmouth school system.For accelerated programs, your child would need to score in a 98+ percentile on standardized testing to be considered for a special program. Even slightly below, they won't be considered for anything. For each class, they mix in high-scoring with low-scoring students, so both groups end up not having their needs met. Despite years of teacher feedback saying that my kids needed accommodations, it was disappointing to see admin doing nothing. There are lots of activites to promote well-roundedness and curiosity, such as gardening, programming, ecology, and band.
