This school has some really great teachers that care about their students. Unfortunately, there are also some teachers that aren’t great. Those teachers have made learning very difficult for my children. At least one teacher in every middle or high school grade won’t follow my kid’s IEP, then treats them poorly when they act out because their IEP wasn’t followed. There’s a teacher who preaches her (right-wing) political agenda to the class, which has made the bullying situation worse with LGBTQIA kids. . There are teachers who don’t take my friend’s religious requests into consideration in their classes with her kids. Kids that are LGBTQIA are bullied, as are Latinex kids and all other visible minorities, though it’s usually verbal and social bullying. Then there’s the administration. The interim principal has an agenda of her own and is making changes, even though her job as an interim is just to keep things running until they get a replacement. The new superintendent seems interested in saving money by increasing administration and cutting teachers. I am very sad that at least two of my kids favorite past teachers will be leaving this year.The music and art departments are decent and have been the saving grace for my kids. If you have a choice of a different school, take it.
