7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school can’t handle students who are struggling academically/emotionally. It is easier for them to send students to tallac (continuation school) than make an effort at helping their students by persistently offering different forms of help. Counselors don’t pay attention to their students and don’t make an effort to reach out to them when they are missing class/ not turning in assignments, instead they are immediately labeled as bad kids. The principal doesn’t seem to understand it may hard for children to reach out for help so he gives up on his students if they decline the help he offered after offering it one time only.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - South Tahoe Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is great!! The diversity of kids is amazing. Unlike other schools in the area this school offers learning to every child no matter your race or learning capacity. It has a amazing outdoor growing dome education that helps the kids learn about growing their own food and healthy eating. Other schools in the area have tried to immatate it but they don’t come close to what is offered. It’s so focused on nutrition, exercise and education. Well rounded school that is I believe the best in South Lake TahoeParent Review8y ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near Glen Eagles.

"Lots of low income rentals and crime. Homes are not well maintained nor are yards. Neighbors are rude to second homeowners. Convenient to local attractions. "

"There are dog friendly trails everywhere, but beware of coyotes, they work in packs to lure dogs away from the owner."

"My neighborhood has very friendly neighbors. Close to trails. Gorgeous views just a short walk away. Less than a mile from heavenly ski resort and a very short drive to the lake and Stateline. "

"Fire defense clean up. Half of our neighbors live in other cities and this is their vacation home. A lot of dog walking but not much neighborly interactivity."

"We are in Al Tahoe near the lake and in the summer we have the Live at Lakeside events with Live Music, food and pubs and restaurants with outdoor seating and for pits encouraging community engagement. All of this is within walking distance from the neighborhood."

"People who walk their dogs seem very friendly. We are new to the neighborhood, so far so good. It’s very quiet and well kept quaint neighborhood. Our dogs seem very comfortable and happy with the transition to S Lake Tahoe along with us as well. "

"Everything in this town is close. If you work in town then it’s a breeze. There is a bus and then always there are taxis so no matter you can get where you need to be "

"Just visiting for a vacation. So far it’s been a great place to visit. Living here would be difficult though. One challenge would be trying to live a normal life amid all of the tourists. Not sure which neighborhoods would be best to avoid the crush of out of town people on weekends and in the winter and summer. "

"Tahoe is dog heaven! The local dog park is well-maintained with lots of friendly dogs. It’s more popular in the snowy part of the year because most dogs go on hikes with their humans in warmer months. The city and county require registration, but it doesn’t cost too much and helps pay for things dogs need, including identification tags. There are leash laws, but well-behaved dogs who don’t stray far from home are given a bit of freedom to stretch their legs around their neighborhoods, as long as they are friendly and respond to voice commands. Also, there’s no need to worry about fleas, ticks or heart worms, because they don’t thrive at this elevation (6225ft - 10,000ft). That makes life easier for dogs and saves our humans a lot of money!
