7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children that attend this school and I have to say that I am greatly pleased and amazed with the diligence and skill that the staff here have shown to help my children along throughout the school year. The teachers, support staff, principal and vice principal work closely with the parents to ensure a child's success. For my son, I feel as if they have gone above and beyond the call of duty in helping him out in the areas where he has been struggling. Their efforts at school compliment those of mine and my husband's efforts while working with my son at home. So far my children have had some pretty hard-working, amazing teachers.Parent Review13y ago1 Reviews - Sheldon High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOther than when I was a high school boys coach, 2026 was my first experience with this school on an academic level. I had a student attend for their senior year. There were a couple of unfortunate incidents, but the school handled them well. I appreciate the cleanliness of the school. The officer on campus seemed relatable and not on a power trip. The principal is really motivated and nice. When my student had academic problems, all of the teachers were willing to meet and discuss ways to assist with the successful completion of the year. I was also new to ParentVue. That is a nice system, but some of the emails can't be replied to when there is a question. I had a few issues. One was that I didn't know enough about Google Classroom and how to use it. I think during one of the back-to-school nights, maybe there should be a classroom where parents who are new to the academic portion of the district should have a tutorial. Or, upload a video on YouTube for us to watch and get very acquainted with it. Every parent/guardian has not always had children. Some of us just took over and need a little more guidance. Moreover, some of us are more familiar with a syllabus. It would help to know what is due the entire quarter versus getting notified a few days to a week in advance. Another issue that I noticed was the requirement that students had to have a cell phone to do most of their homework. What happens when the student doesn't have a cell phone? With transportation, all of the employees should know the same basic information. When the school year starts, all of them should know to give a temporary bus pass until the official one arrives. Moreover, if the student's name is spelled incorrectly, parents should not have to pay for the replacement with the correct legal name. Additionally, I think that students should still receive a physical student ID card. Again, what if they don't have a cell phone to show the digital one? Lastly, I know it's about money, but to only give six graduation tickets seems inconsiderate. Although some students have more than six immediate family members, at least inform parents long before the graduation month that there's a cost to get more tickets, and tell parents in advance that they can borrow the graduation attire. Even though it likely wouldn't have been this way had I had more experience with the school and district for high school students, I felt very stressed during this senior year. Other than that, I like the school.Parent Review1mo ago10 Reviews - T. R. Smedberg Middle School

"Decent neighborhood. Some suspicious activity in surrounding neighborhoods as seen on the ring app. But pretty good overall. Lots of schools nearby so there’s usually kids out and playing. Friendly neighbors for the most part and a couple of shopping centers within 10 minutes. Can’t complain :) "

"Cool , bus times are iffy but you can get where you want to go for a good price, some places you will need to walk a little bit more to get there and get back. Some times it’s to late to catch a bus or train and you need to walk home. "
