8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been very disappointed with this school. My husband and I moved from another state for our jobs, and when looking for a school for our son, we did our due diligence and researched the surrounding school districts. What Jackson Local does NOT tell you is that if your child is a newcomer, he will be treated very differently. My son on several occasions has stated that he feels "invisible" there - people are not necessarily mean, they just act like he doesn't exist - students AND teachers. He has joined a few different organizations, but says because he is "new", people (including staff) ignore him, don't include him, don't talk back when he tries to initiate conversations. I have had several conversations with his teachers AND the principal, and felt very dismissed by all of them. I was given "we care, but there is nothing we can do" to help him feel like he belongs. As an educator, I find this very distressing, and this attitude explains why there are so many destructive and suicidal students in that building (which they also do not tell you). My husband and I are currently looking to move to a different school district, where all children are valued and cared about. We gave Jackson 2 years, and enough is enough.Parent Review2y ago8 Reviews - Jackson Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a joke. Teachers definitely have favorites. If you're kid isn't one of the teacher pets, be prepare for relentless phone calls, Secret side agendas against kids. And ignorant staff members. I literally get a call every week with the teachers saying oh your kid got their phones taken, oh you're kid has detention. Oh you're kids isnt good enough for this school.bla bla bla the superintendent is clueless to these actions cause she's apart of the actual problem. If you don't make over 100k a year you're student will feel, left out, and the teachers don't care. This community is a joke and don't care about anything other than is image. Bunch of over privileged racist.Parent Review4w ago4 Reviews - Sauder Elementary School

"We drive our own private vehicles that are parked in our driveway or garage. Highways and main streets are very close by and make getting around quick and easy "

"I drive to dalton so the commute for me is pretty uneventful due to there not being traffic at the time that I leave. Commute to downtown in the afternoon isn’t bad either maybe takes 1 minute longer if that. So overall pretty good. "

"I drive to my appointments, which are all within a twenty minute drive. But my hours are usually mid to late afternoon or early evening. I don’t have much of an issue with rush hour traffic."

"Walk, Drive or Crawl for 4 miles to the nearest store or workplace. Of course if you want to eat outdoors then just walk next doors and grab an ear of corn right off the stalk and go sit on the bench so you will not have to commute into town that day!! Hooorrrayyy !!! Commuting is for other people who want to go feed the ducks on the pond about a mile down the road."
