Both my kids go to Troutville Elem. & we've had nothing but positive experiences. They have a great 'gifted' program there as well for kids who need to be challenged more when they are excelling. I don't know why the rating is so low since everyone I know there loves it!

"Not much public transportation but I commute to Roanoke and it is not bad at all. This being a small community there is not much traffic and it’s a straight shot to the interstate for other travel. "

"Excellent area for small farms and livestock. Neighbors are friendly, without being a nuisance. Breathtaking mountainous views. Many local hunting and gun enthusiasts, so if you have pets that frighten easily, this is a neighborhood to avoid. "
