5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI MOVED TO ENNIS FROM RED OAK. AFTER READING THE REVIEWS AND RATINGS I WAS PRETTY EXCITED THAT MY DAUGHTER WOULD BE MOVING FROM A GREAT SCHOOL TO ANOTHER. NOT THE CASE AT ALL. THEY ARE VERY COLD AND NOT FRIENDLY GREETERS. IM GUESSING BECAUSE SOME OF THE STUAFF IS SO YOUNG BUT HER OLD SCHOOL WAS SAME AND THEY WERE THE ONES WHO KEPT IT SO HAPPY FOR THE CHILDREN. MY DAUGHTERS TEACHER DID THE REGULAR ROUTINE PARENT CONFERANCE AND AFTER A FEW MONTHS IN SCHOOL STILL DIDNT KNOW MY DAUGHTERS NAME. SHE SAID MY DAUGHTER IS VERY QUITE AND IF THERE WAS ANYTHING GOING ON AT HOME? I EXPLAINED TO HER SHE IS JUST VERY PICKY ON WHO SHE PICKS AS FRIENDS AND SHE RATHER BE THE GOOD QUITE KID ALWAYS. HER OLD SCHOOL LOVED HER FOR IT BECAUSE SHE WAS ALWAYS FOLLOWING THE RULES AND NEVER TALKING IN LINE. MY DAUGHTER WAS SO BOTHERED HER TEACHER RENAMED HER AND ALL THE KIDS CALLED HER BY THE NAME THE TEACHER MADE UP BECAUSE SHE NEVER LEARNED HER NAME. OF COURSE AFTER THAT MEETING SHE LEARNED IT AS I MENTIONED TO HER THAT USHALLY TEACHERS LEARN THE GOOD STUDENTS NAMES VERY EASILY. THE SCHOOL NEVER HAS ANY KIND OF ACTIVITIES O ANYTHING OF THAT SORT. THEY WILL SEND YOU TONS OF PTA DONATION THINGS THEY NEED THOUGH FOR THE SCHOOL. I DO NOT SEE WHERE OUR HELP GOES THOUGH. NO THANKSGIVING LUNCH OR HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES. NOT AT ALL WHAT YOU WILL EXPECT. MY DAUGHTERS GRADES HAVE ALSO GONE DOWN AND THEY SEND HER HOME WITH STUFF THEY DO NOT REVIEW AT SCHOOL.Other Review10y ago2 Reviews - Ennis High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated several years ago from Ennis. There are the small handful of excellent teachers who truly care about the students academics and progress, but unfortunately the majority couldn't care less. They let the students control the classroom and the assignments are a joke. Fights breakout on a regular basis and bullying is an issue. The principal is great as well as many staff members. However there are only two student counselors/ advisors and only one does her job. I waited for 30min for the advisor to get off a personal call about what type of wine she wanted to bring to a party later that week (during school hours). It's awful. The school is obviously huge in football, but if your child is not in athletics then I would say find another school where they will actually learn. I'm moving out of town so my kids won't have to go to Ennis hs.Other Review10y ago14 Reviews - Ennis Junior High School

"It's awesome neighborhood. We have been here 2 1/2yrs and plan to stay for a very long time. The mid-century modern homes from the 1950 and super large trees make it very special. Oh and our two neighborhood parks and lake are sweet. "
