"not many families live in this neighborhood. it's very quiet and neighbors tend to keep to themselves "
  • Rog B
"We've lived in Placitas for 6 years and love it! Our area is so peaceful, private and safe. Placitas residents are the best... very friendly and respectful of all. We have quick access to city life yet away from the frenzy. The amazing weather, freshest air in the country and breathtaking views make it a magical place and we appreciate every moment we are here!"

"This is a lovely area -- close to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Bernalillo has restaurants, most stores you need, as well as the RailRunner stop. There is also a food market, bank, other restaurants about a mile east which is very convenient. The views from this area are amazing."
  • Susan N. A.
"It's surprising that Placitas is still undiscovered. It's a small village with a rich history and spectacular views of mountains , mesas and wide open sky. It's 10 miles from Albuquerque and 45 miles to Santa Fe."
  • Dayis P.
"Assuming walkability implies not car dependent - and a car is certainly needed here. Everything you need is within a 15-20 minute drive. The commuter train is about 5 min away and can take you to the airport to the south or up to Santa Fe to the north. Near wildlife corridor, so many critters to see, great views, and many trails for hiking. Very quiet. Dark skies at night perfect for viewing city lights in the distance or stars above."
  • Sandy P.
"Placitas is a great community to live in. It's got a small population in a large tract of land bordered by two Indian reservations and the National Forest. Lots are a minimum of 3/4 of an Acre and larger. There is excellent water and air quality. Excellent restaurants are in the area and we have our own market and day spa right in Placitas. There is a wonderful library offering volunteer opportunities, and all sorts of programs for young and old. There is also a Garden Club that offers much more than gardening. The views are magnificent. There is a commuter train that stops close by and goes to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. And there are lots of very friendly people!"
  • Sandy P.
"There are wonderful hiking and biking trails. There are great restaurants in the area. it is quiet and peaceful. We have our own community library with lots of volunteer opportunities and book clubs. There is also a Garden Club that offers lots of fun groups doing everything from playing bridge to going to movies together. The commuter train is close by and travels to ABQ & Santa Fe. We have a very nice little marketplace and lots of friendly people!"
  • Gary C.
"Placitas is a special community - close to the attractions of Albuquerque, but well off the beaten track with lovely roads, homes, and views."
  • Susan L.
"Wild horses, excellent neighbors, great walking trails all around, good school nearby. Decent commute to 2 major cities. Tons of community involvement. Cannot lose living here!"
