The school is trash, they have eachothers backs, no one is healed responsible for mistreating students, teachers drive the bus routes, one of them grabbed my kids physically shaking and screaming at them for laughing on the bus, one of them has nephrotic syndrome where her kidneys keep her sick and my other one wears hearing aids, they were crying and complaining of being squeezed so hard they cried in front of everyone on the bus. She still has her job and my kids never rode the bus ever again because of it; the coach is a man who at recess he yells at them like a maniac and talks to the kids like they are nobodies. I am disgusted with the school and never again will they go there.

"Quiet neighborhood. Everyone is friendly. Safe. Have packages delivered to front porch and have never had anything go missing. Commute to work is 10 minutes. Most people commute to Lubbock which is an additional 10 minutes. 15 minute drive to the airport. Shopping and restaurants are a 25 minute drive. There are two local restaurants in town, but not much shopping. Thus town is quiet and a good place to retire. Most people who grew up here and moved away will usually cone back to raise their kid. "

"I grew up here. Moved away at the age of 19. Came back 16 years later and have been living here for the past 5 years. My kids love the school. "

"I work here and own commercial buildings. The taxes are low. Chamber of Commerce is very active with new projects and ways to bring attention and business to town."

"Abernathy is a remarkable town for raising a family. It's safe, the schools are excellent, and it's just minutes from shopping, parks, hospitals and restaurants in Lubbock. The cost of living is so much less than Lubbock and small town living can't be beat. "
