3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVilma Sandoval, the principal, creates a toxic and hostile environment at Thompson Elementary for teachers, staff, parents and students. My child has attended for a few years now and we have had nothing but issues. Her slogan is, "This is MY school." My child has a dual diagnosis and I informed the principal of this before my child began attending. It wasn't until I filed a formal complaint (after years of misconduct) that my child received the evaluations and resources that should have been offered when she started at Thompson. I have been made to feel unwelcome on campus from day one. Many other parents have the same complaint and have filed grievances yet the district backs the principal. The feeling on campus is cold. I have offered up solutions for parental engagement, restarting the PTO, activities, parent participation in class and on field trips with no response or they are met with resistance. Staff, parents and students suffer at the hands of Ms. Sandoval. Do your research and speak with other parents prior to sending your child to this school and know your rights. Sandoval puts on a good act but I promise the school culture and environment is not a positive one that children deserve and you will be advocating for your child more than you should. Save your child and your sanity - find another school.Parent Review1y ago9 Reviews - Indian Springs High

"dogs here are not pets. they are security systems. dog frequently escape from home and may not be the friendliest towards other dogs. "

"Most dogs are used for security and locked behind fences. Some are not locked up will bark at you and come at you as you walk down the street. Some cross the street as if they own it. Right now the city is putting up sidewalks to make it safer to walk to school. This is nice so we can walk our dogs, ride bikes. I like walking my dog from time to time."

"Most people in this neighborhood keep to themselves. If you try to greet them they turn up their noses to you. I have lived here six years and have only recently felt safe enough to take my dog for a walk around the 1.5 mile block . "

"Nothing makes this neighborhood unique. It’s normal in the day but ghetto at night. Don’t park in the streets overnight, your car will get hit/stolen. Other than that it’s just okay"

"The safety of a neighborhood or community is based on the involvement of the families that live there. To keep it safe takes more than police officers cruising through for 5 mins twice a shift. Parents talking to parents and children pointing out the things that they see. When you move into a new area get to know your neighbors and ask questions. Neighborhood Watch isn't necessary when everyone is watching for their neighborhood. Keep out children, each other and homes under a concerned eye."
