The rating system here needs to be divided between teachers and administration. The teachers here for the most part are excellent so far. We moved to this area at the beginning of this year, and found 7th grade to be similar to what we were used to in a different state, except for the second language requirement. NY state schools require a second language, which doesn't make sense to me, especially for kids with learning disabilities. I would give the teaching staff a B+, the administration (upper level) a D. The administrative staff seems to think they know more about my child than I do, which I will never defer to. I hope next year the high school is more parent friendly than the administration at the middle school is. Great teachers, terrible admins.

This school doesn't care to involve parents at all! They rather patronize their parents and do everything they need to to save money. Parents concerns are never acknowledged and parents are told they are overreacting. It's been like this for 4 to 5 years. Teaching staff/ Administration think they know child better then their own parents.

This is a small rural central school, yet they manage to attract and keep great and dedicated teachers. They are not large enough to offer many AP or G&T course, but the teachers work to provide customized opportunities for the students. My six siblings and I all received a great high school education there as did many of my nieces and nephews. They have the wisdom to help guide young people into good career tracks for them, not just "everyone should go to college."

The principal at the school constantly ignores a fifth grade boy who goes and puts his hands on younger little girls. There has been twice already of him, putting his hands around their neck in chokehold and literally choking them, and the school does nothing but that’s because his mom’s a lawyer.The amount of bullying that goes on in this school, your child will not be able to focus on learning because they are constantly being bullied. When the principal gets mad at the parent, all the sudden your kids in trouble and losing recess that day. This place is not safe for children. Do not come to Cobleskill or Richmondville if you have children because your child will not learn all they will get is trauma at this school.
